Jon Kabat-Zinn created Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and has been one of the leaders in bringing mindfulness to the world of western medicine and psychology. This is a book with short chapters (great for bedside reading) and is a very helpful introduction to what it means to live mindfully. I would recommend anything by Jon Kabat-Zinn (iTunes has a lot of Kabat-Zinn’s work as well.)
