Council
for Exceptional Children
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is a professional organization
devoted to enhancing the education of those with exceptionalities,
students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC provides: (1)
Professional development opportunities and resources, (2) 17 divisions
for specialized information, (3) Journals and newsletters with information
on new research findings, classroom practices that work, federal
legislation, and policies, (4) Conventions and conferences, and
(5) Special education publications
Hoagies’
Gifted Education Page
Hoagies' Gifted Education Page has over 1000 pages of information
on gifted children and adults. All of the resources listed on Hoagies'
pages are recommended by parents, teachers, psychologists, and/or
gifted students themselves.
National
Association for Gifted Children
The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) is an organization
of parents, teachers, educators, other professionals, and community
leaders. The group tackles the special needs of gifted and talented
children. They institute policies that support and respond to the
talents of gifted and talented children. NAGC also supports research
and development, staff development, advocacy, communication, and
collaboration with other organizations and agencies who work to
better the educational opportunities of all students.
Supporting
Emotional Needs of the Gifted
SENG provides information to gifted individuals, their families,
and professionals about the special social and emotional needs of
gifted persons. They back programs that promote mental health and
social competence in gifted individuals. The mission of SENG is
to empower families and communities to foster the development of
giftedness through their daily interactions with children and adults.
Texas
Association for the Gifted and Talented
The Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented
(TAGT) is an organization comprised of educators and parents devoted
to the education of gifted and talented students. TAGT is the nation’s
largest state advocacy group and supplies a forum for children and
adults to discuss ideas and information about gifted education.
TAGT also promotes awareness of the social, emotional, and intellectual
needs of gifted and talented students.

The 2e Newsletter Website contains information
and resources for parents, educators, and professionals, and advocates
on raising, educating, and meeting the social and emotional needs
of twice-exceptional children. You can order a subscription to their
bi-monthly email newsletter to receive current information on how
to best help 2e students.

The purpose of this website to provide an overview
of giftedness, highlight some of accomplishments of “twice-gifted”
individuals, and present information on the mental and emotional
issues unique to gifted individuals.

The broad range of articles posted includes topics such as homeschooling,
