Fees for the ApaCenter services of assessments, therapy, and consultation are competitive given the high level of expertise of our practitioners and the quality of our services. ApaCenter services are self-pay, and we are not a provider on any insurance panels at this time. This allows you to have the maximum control of your records and privacy as well as freedom of choice in selecting who provides the services that you or your child receives.
Fees for Therapy and Consultation
The ApaCenter offers therapy and consultation at standard and reduced rates. Our standard fee for therapy or consultation with a Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Professional Counselor is $175 for the initial 75-minute session. If you decide to pursue therapy or consultation, sessions are 50 minutes and $120.
Reduced Fees for Therapy and Consultation
Two practitioners at the ApaCenter provide therapy, consultation, and ADHD coaching at reduced rates. These are with our two Doctoral Psychology Interns, Iektje Stephens M.A. and Lindsay Bell M.Ed., who are working under the supervision of Licensed Psychologists Dr. Mike Brooks and Dr. Vickie Schafer. They are highly qualified practitioners with a wealth of therapy experience. Generally, their fee for a 75-minute initial therapy session is $90. If you decide to pursue therapy, consultation, or ADHD coaching, sessions are typically 50 minutes and $60.
Fees for Assessments
The Licensed Psychologists at the ApaCenter conduct assessments of young children (age 3) through adults for issues such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorders (including Asperger’s Syndrome), learning disabilities, gifted and talented, and emotional/psychological challenges. Our fees for the assessments, which are generally conducted entirely by one of our psychologists rather than by a graduate student or intern, are competitive with those of other psychologists who provide a similar level of comprehensiveness and expertise. Please click here to read more about ApaCenter assessments or contact our office manager, Becky Holley, at (512) 891-1500 for a specific fee quote.
Insurance
If you decide to pursue reimbursement from your insurance company, the ApaCenter would be considered an “out of network” provider. We will provide you with an invoice for the services that you receive that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. The ApaCenter does not guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for services because plans vary considerably. Please note that insurance companies do not reimburse for sessions conducted by Doctoral Psychology Interns.
If you would like to set up an initial therapy appointment, please contact our office manager, Becky Holley, at (512) 891-1500. She can help you select the most appropriate ApaCenter psychologist or therapist based on the goals and needs of you or your child. You can also view the therapists’ statements, which includes treatment philosophies, types of issues addressed, and availability.
DARS
The ApaCenter also offers therapy for persons who are eligible for benefits through the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). Currently, our doctoral psychology interns, Iektje Stephens M.A. and Lindsay Bell M.Ed., are providing these therapy services under the supervision of Licensed Psychologists Dr. Mike Brooks and Dr. Vickie Schafer. Before scheduling an appointment with us, please contact your counselor at DARS to formally get these services approved.
