Living well with ADHD and Learning Disabilities
ADDitude provides information and advice from ADD/ADHD experts and
practitioners in mental health and learning. On ADDitude's site
you will find: Practical information about raising children; hundred
of answers from ADDitude’s expert panel to questions asked
by real people living with ADD/ADHD or learning disabilities; information
for those just diagnosed or just starting treatment; inspiring first-person
life stories from people living with ADD/ADHD; message boards; education
and learning resources; and organization tips.
Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
(CHADD)
CHADD is a national non-profit organization providing education,
advocacy and support for individuals with ADD/ADHD. CHADD's objectives
are: to provide a support network for parents and caregivers; to
provide a forum for continuing education; to be a community resource
and disseminate accurate, evidence-based information about ADD/ADHD
to parents, educators, adults, professionals, and the media; to
promote ongoing research; and to be an advocate on behalf of the
ADD/ADHD community.
Austin
CHADD Chapter
CHADD Austin is the local chapter of the national non-profit group:
Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
CHADD Austin provides resources for parents, teachers, and those
with ADD/ADHD. They have monthly meetings that include support groups
for parents, teachers, and adults affected by ADD/ADHD.
LD
Online
LD Online provides accurate and timely information about learning
disabilities (LD) and ADD/ADHD. It supplies parents and teachers
of children with LD and ADD/ADHD with information to guide their
efforts to assist these children. The site also provides resources
for adults on the transitions from school to college and from school
to the workplace, and on the issues faced by adults with LD and
ADD/ADHD.
National
Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH)
NIMH is a department of the National Institutes of Health. Their
goal is to conduct and support research in all areas of mental health
and then communicate those findings to the general community.
The
National Resource Center on AD/HD
The National Resource Center on AD/HD is a center for science-based
information about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD).
This website is funded by an arrangement with the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention and was created to inform professionals and
the general public on the latest information about AD/HD.
